What do I need to bring to my appointment?

Your car

You will need to be able to get your car to the appointment as we don't offer a collection service.

The V5 logbook/registration certificate

Registered in the name of the current keeper. If the V5 logbook/registration certificate is still in your maiden name, you will need to bring a copy of your marriage certificate.

Identification. Photo ID such as a passport or driver's licence and a proof of current address. The only acceptable proof of address will be a bank statement, utility bill or HMRC letter dated within the last 90 days. These must match the name and address on the vehicle logbook

.

All service and MOT history for the car, the locking wheel nut, security codes for the radio, the security code for obtaining replacement keys and any discs required for the satellite navigation system.

Both sets of keys. Unless previously agreed, the valuation provided assumes you have 2 sets of keys for your vehicle. If there is only 1 key, the price we offer you after inspection may be reduced.

Bank details. The account must be in the same name as the person the vehicle is registered to.

Finance settlement letter. If the vehicle has any finance outstanding we need a letter with the settlement figure from the finance company to be able to buy the vehicle.

What happens at the appointment?

One of our specialist car buying team members will carry out an appraisal of the vehicle, and a short test drive will be undertaken. We may in some circumstances request that one of our technicians inspect the vehicle on a ramp in our workshop.

After the appraisal and test drive, we will offer you a price for your car.

The price we offer at this stage may differ from your online valuation if it becomes apparent that the value is affected by any aspect of the vehicles history or condition, including any unusual features or customisation, which was not apparent to us when we provided the initial valuation or if any of the assumptions which we make were incorrect and this had not been clarified by the seller.

If you do decide to sell your car, you will leave it with us and we will complete the paperwork and arrange for the money to be paid into your bank account. Don't forget to make arrangements to get back home after the appointment.

What happens if the information provided for my car is not accurate?

If there are any discrepancies between the details we have been provided, the assumptions we have made, or, if during the inspection, we discover something about the car that we didn't already know, the valuation may change.
